French And Uk Visa Applications

Featured Replies

hello people!

I am applying for a UK student visa as I will be continuing my studies there and will also apply for a Schengen tourist visa at the French Embassy. I am going on a tour that starts and ends in the UK. I bought a one way plane ticket back in June to the UK because I was told that a one-year open round trip ticket is counted from the day that I actually pay for the tickets (and I need to stay in England for a year and finish my dissertation around September). So, my question is will I have problems obtaining a UK student and Schengen tourist visa without a reserved return ticket? I am worried since the French visa checklist states that I need a confirmed return flight ticket in order to apply for a Schengen visa.

The website of the French Embassy in Thailand also says that all Thai documents must be translated into English or French. Does this also include my Thai ID card that is in Thai? The website also says that medical insurance is a must and that it must be from a European company or those that are on the list of accepted local companies. I've tried searchin for the list and haven't been able to find any. I would appreciate it if anyone could enlighten me on this matter!

p.s. I tried calling the French embassy, but all I came upon were recorded tapes.

Thank you!

Hello kkengvibul,

You can send an e-mail to [email protected]

They usually answer within one working day.

I think there should be no problem if you show you UK studen visa and the return ticket to London.

About your other questions:

- Your passport is OK, you don't need to translate your Thai ID card

- For the medical insurance, you can contact A.G. Service Group 21/32 Thai Wah Tower 1, 12/F, South Sathorn Rd.,Bangkok 10120 tel. 026773101 e-mail [email protected]
