August 2, 200817 yr The $100 million Harvey Weinstein film Shanghai, starring John Cusack, Chow Yun-Fat and Gong Li, is about to wrap at its Bangkok location. I had an opportunity to work with the production and met the principal cast members and some of the crew briefly. The set used for exteriors, on the backlot of Moonstar Studio, is a replica of a 1941 Shanghai port neighborhood, quite impressive. I can post photos if anyone's interested. Interior sets are on spearate soundstages, including one done up to look like the interior of a casino nightclub.
