Fujifilm Finepix F100fd

Featured Replies

For anyone who knows about cameras... I am considering buying this new camera (12 megapixels.)

Wondering how big i can expect to print a photo with this camera..

I currently have the Fuji F30 model (6 megapixels) , and have printed out a photo 10 x 15 , which keeps its high quality.

I am wondering how large I can make a photo with the new FinePix F100fd (12 meg) model, and still keep a nice quality image. It would be great to have something close to a poster size from this camera..

Thanks,

david

I'll move this topic to Thailand Photos ->Photography and Arts where the experts are! There you should get more and the infos you're looking for.

Most manufacturer websites allows free download of sample photo of all models in their lineup. That should give you some idea about the print quality in its maximum resolution.

I've downloaded some sample photos of this model from the above link. My conclusion is no, I wouldn't print anything larger than A4 out of this camera. I would use an SLR for any print bigger than A4 size, perhaps up to A3+ or larger. But you might have a different opinion as to what is a tolerable print quality at any given size.

Here is the info on the camera.

Since it is a small sensor camera I would be very dubious about noise at the

higher ISO values, especially at the heady heights of ISO 12800?

It is rare for full frame SLR's to scale such levels. :o

A4 would be my estimate for the best print size, but you might be lucky.
