Last night at dinner with friends there was a lady who had been stung by a wasp on her left thumb and said she got a tetanus shot for it. This was in Switzerland. I thought getting a tetanus vaccination for it was overdoing it, but said nothing. Is it really possible to get tetanus from a wasp sting?

Coincidentally, I got stung by wasp on my back about an hour ago and, knowing that I was not allergic to wasp venom, I did nothing more than rub a crushed medicinal herb on it to stop and reduce the swelling.
