Canon Vixia Hf10 Camcorder

Featured Replies

I decided to get a Canon VIXIA HF10 Camcorder.

Where would be the best place to buy from?

There is a Camera Store in Central Rama 3 that sells them. From memory its on the 3rd floor.

Its interesting why you are chosing the HF10, as I was very seriously considering one and then I read about the issue of saving files when it spans both memory cards, so I went with the Sony SR12, whic also has its own issues.

Probably also Fortune Tower you should be able to find it there.

Thanks, I'm not in Bangkok and had no luck in Phuket so I'm getting one from overseas once it arrives.

I looked at the Sony SR12 as well, (had a JVC HDD one before) but changed my mind when I saw how big it is. Also the technical reviews are better for the Canon.

If I had time I would wait for the HF-11, but I need one now, so the HF-10 is the best choice for me now.

Ok, I saw one in there yesterday - sorry, I forgot to ask the price.

They are a very nice peice of kit, and you are correct the SR12 is large and heavy.

One thing I have found with HD is the need for a tripod, and a nice heavy one. I got motion sick looking at some of my work on a large screen HD TV because of the Camera shake etc. HAving the additional screen size and clarity xeems to amplify any shake or "unplanned" panning.

Good luck and enjoy, I have found watching my own HD work is a pleasure and I hope the same for you.
