I will apply for a 365 day extension stay of my retirement visa tomorrow. I will also apply for a multiple re-entry permit to avoid the extra 4,000 Baht payment for this permit effective August 26.

As I have not applied for this permit before, can anyone tell me whether it's necessary to complete the bottom section of the TM.8 form which requires the applicant to state which country he  will be travelling to, reasons for travel, plus departure and return dates? I can't supply this information because I haven't finalized any travel plans as yet.

Your assistance greatly appreciated

Ken,

The reentry permit will be valid until the same day your visa extension expires, and the details about your "travel" does not show up on the permit. Just enter a departure and arrival date that seems reasonable on the form. Mai mee bpan haa! :o

George,

Got my one-year retirement visa extension today. But for some reason, one has to wait one day to get the passport back. Stamp probably has to be signed by the head Immigration officer as well.

According to several of the senior officials, there will be no change to the income requirements as from January 2004. Original income requirements will remain in force. But from next year a health certificate will be mandatory.

Regards all
