I just learned that some relocation company in Bangkok advises their customers that it is not allowed for private people to pack household goods by themselves. Only certified relocation companies are allowed to do so. Further, the cargo must sit at the relocation company's warehouse for three days at the expense of the customer for customs inspection.

None of the above is true!

You ARE allowed to pack by yourself and the container can be stuffed in front of your door and trucked straight away to the port. The only implication is that your cargo cannot be insured against damage but against total loss only.

Agreed....

Crown relocation is one of them..even when they did pack it themselves,I still had lots of breakages,including a TV and a model ship I was building(4 years into the build) I was gutted...!!
