Chiang Mai Foreign Cemetery

Featured Replies

The committee for the Chiang Mai Foreign Cemetery are revising the book “De Mortuis”,(sp?) giving the history of the cemetery and stories of those buried in it. They are particularly looking for information on two relatively recently interred residents:

Wolfgang Schneelocher was German. He was born 23/01/1946 and he died on 12th December 2002 aged 56. He is believed to have lived in the Mae Rim area. He is buried in Grave B13A

Reinhold Karnagel was also German and was born in Torgau, Germany on the 3rd September 1929. He Died on 8th September 2001 aged 72. He is buried in Grave number BB11. Rheinhold lived in the Sarapee area and is believed to have been an engineer with the German Railway. His (Thai) widow is believed to have moved to Germany but might have visited his grave about two months ago.

If you have any information on the two above, or any other matter of interest, please either contact me, by PM or email, or phone the secretary of the cemetery on 01 882 0980.
