Don't, unless you are an experienced demolition derby driver

I rent a car last month in Chiang Mai from Northern Wheels. I was a little bit worried about driving in Thailand but was surprised that thai drivers are not so bad. What was most difficult for me was driving on the left side of the road, but generally speaking the roads in the north are ingood state and there are not a lot of cars except in towns.

Nevertheless was happy to have my thai friend with me to help and warn about potential dangers. I drove to Phrae, Phayao, Mae Sai and back to Chiang Mai.

BTW Northern Wheels has a great reputation and deserves it.
