Park Near Phon Tong

Featured Replies

Some time ago somebody posted an interesting but rather vague item about a park near Phon Tong containing animals. I finally got around to making a trip in that direction the Sunday before last, and found such an establishment about 10km out of town on the Yang Talat/Phon Tong road (left turn coming from Yang Talat). I think it may have been called something like Malesin Park. The only problem was that it was closed on that day, so I wasn't much wiser. One local said that the park is run by a westerner named David and there are many animals, especially native Isaan breeds and including snakes and birds. Another woman said there were no animals but many flowers. Incidentally when I asked a couple of people at the petrol station in Phon Tong if there were any parks around with animals they both said "No, nothing like that around". I have this penciled in for a future trip but still have no real idea if it is a worthwhile excursion. Has anybody visited and can they give a description?
