We ar planning to come up for the Chaing Rai bike night in December, right now it shows 600 baht a night certianly a good price, maybe a little to good

The location might look good as the meeting probably takes place again at the opposite side of the River Kok, not so far away. A little swing over the Mae Fah Luang bridge, Ban Nam Lat Soi 1 to the right and you are almost 'home'.

Generally spoken the old airport area (yes, exactly there where you wouldn't like to be seen fifteen years ago) is better. There are now seven good and quite new hotels prized inbetween 350 and 500 Baht, most of them including breakfast and wifi-internet. It is a nice and quite neighbourhood now, though it still offers some nice entertainment as well (something with coyotes and so on).

Distances in Chiang Rai are allways small as the town still isn't bigger as an average newspaper, so that woudn't matter.

I have just spent 3 months at the Morning Dew Lodge which is a relatively new

place about 100m south of the Condotel. Manageress is very sweet, helpful and

speaks perfect english. Spotlessly clean, fluffy towels, crisp white bedlinen. 600b

per night includes breakfast and fast wifi. 6000 per month (plus elec and water)

includes wifi but no breakfast.

Reccomended.

I try many hotel in chiang rai and the best for quality and price is

sport inn hotel 350 thai baht,old airport area,at the and of sanambin road just opposite to red rose hotel

at this price include 2 bottle of water a day clening room air condition refrigerator tv with same movie program in english language

internet free at reception or wireless if you have your notebook.

i suggest to get 2 single bed because the big bed is not big analfh

and to sleep 1 floor not far from reception for don't walk upstairs.

99,9% of the customers are thai people,the farang don't know to much about this hotel.

I live there for a long time and is a pleasure area not so far away from night bazar around 3 km.

If you arrive late afternon is possibile is full already.

room are very big and choise the room looking old airport where people go to run at 17 pm.

i forget tea and coffe in a powder are free at reception and have restaurant service in the room

is not far away from coyote bar....

December 8TH Chaing Rai Bike Night Chaing Rai

Thanks Guys Chaing Mai will be the two days before. The wifes family is not far form Chaing Rai, so we will leave the next day have a brief stop in the village and then back to Lampaeng maybe. Then return to Udon. It's looking seven bikes from Udon so far.
