I'm a 25 years old french and I live in Pattaya for 10 months.

I know a lot of things now about Pattaya about the good plans, restaurants, beer bars, gogo bars, discos, shopping, only Thai places...

I really want to share my experience in this amazing place. If you're coming soon just for holidays, and you need to know something, just ask me. It would be a pleasure for me.

Visa :

You don't need one if you're not staying over 30 days in Thailand.

Hotels :

If you're coming to Pattaya not for a long stay, you have to book a hotel. I really suggest you to book a hotel on Internet. Prices are cheaper than if you book the hotel directly. For example: www.asiarooms.com/thailand/pattaya.html. There are the best prices I think (my friends book on this website) and there's a map with the hotel locations.

What kind of holidays?

If you're coming with you're family, just for relax and for your children, don't stay in Pattaya city. Really better to stay in Jomtien. Jomtien is the perfect location for coming with our family. There's only one gogo bar for example, the water is quite clear, 6km beach, a lot of good restaurants (seafood is awesome). Furthermore there is a big water park (Pattaya park).

If you're coming for having a lot of fun and getting wild, Pattaya City will be the perfect place.

You could post your info on the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree seeing as LP haven't sent a writer to Pattaya in a decade but backpackers still quote their misleading Pattaya section verbatim without ever setting foot there.
