Washing Machine Hose

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

I bought a washing machine (Toshiba) at tesco lotus but the washing machine hose is too short. I'm looking for a shop that sells a hose of around 3 meter. It thought it would be easy but i can't find it.

Thanks!

I had the same problem and ended up buying a length of strong green garden hose (sold by the meter) and the various connectors / clips to make it all fit together from the local hardware store - looks a mess but it works (bit like me really :o )

Though not 3m , The guys who installed my machine used some of the blue 2" PVC piping so that the outlet tube just drops inside it.

Input hose or drain hose?

Where have you looked?

Good question!

Doh!

Cheers

Ahhhh very very good question - I assumed input and supplied a possible answer whereas percy2 assumed output and also supplied an answer.

Would Freud have something to say about these assumptions? :o

A lot probably since we have all gotten a bit off with this hosing thread, another on multiple entries and the third about the ladies crotch doctor.

So we have all missed the point that 3 meters are needed and that length done properly should be done in pvc pipe clipped to the wall, not hose no matter whether it is in or out. That also answers the where question since you can find pipe, fittings, glue, tape and a hacksaw blade everywhere.

Good question indeed! (sorry)

Input hose... :o

I've looked at HomePro, Tesco, Carrefour

Try Amorn (ground floor BigC Hang Dong) - they have replacement hoses for a lot of brands and extention ones too - as you need the right fitting to connect to your machine. Input hose more generic than drain hose so you should be ok.

You already have the right fitting to connect to your machine. On the other end of the hose you have is common 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch connection that usually connects to a valve or faucet and is very standard and will connect to a PVC pipe fitting or valve, easy to find, or hose fitting, much harder to find unless you are very lucky. Easiest and best long term solution is to run pvc pipe from your water source to a location where you can connect your hose to a valve on the end of the pvc.

Perfect - bring the water to the machine rather than than the machine to the water - cheaper easier simple etc :o
