September 17, 200817 yr I come from a land down under, where strange things wander around the "bush" (country-side) at night. These include Bunyips, Yowies & Quinkins with sightings of min-min lights reported from time to time. My query is are there such creatures in Thailand (or in your home countries for that matter) ? http://www.proofparanormal.com/paranormalaustralia.html
September 17, 200817 yr I haven't seen that one, but while on walkabout in the dark, inner depths of Siam Paragon, I once spotted a Big Haired, White Faced Khunying.
September 17, 200817 yr Author Be careful of these lads.. Phi Pob - A malicious and very dangerous spirit which manifests itself as a beautiful woman. Phi Pob float through the air because they have no legs or lower body. They generally appear as a length of internal organs and intestines suspended from a strikingly lovely face - therefore, beware beautiful women gliding mysteriously by in long dresses! This type of ghost is probably more feared than any other species in Thailand.
September 18, 200817 yr Or breakfast for that matter. BTW, my nick name amongst the Thai community in the UK was Phi Saad Noi (sp?) hence my avatar.
September 18, 200817 yr Near the village is a small steep hill with an old Stupa on it. There's also a relativity new reclining Buddha statue and a dormitory for monks. Nearby is a clump of scrubby trees that is full of spirit houses. The reason for this is the hilltop is infested with phee. I've walked up with the dog many times and he doesn't seem to mind it but earlier this year I decided to drive up and take some photos so took an adult nephew to mind the dog. This great big civilised, sophisticated wuss wouldn't even get out of the car when he realised where we were!!!

E: clarif I would say that's about right, but Saat Taan is an imported English word I think and relatively recent. One of my friends in the UK used to call me a little devil quite regularly and when his Thai wife asked him what that was, the closest she could come up with at the time in Thai was little ghost..... and it just stuck.
September 18, 200817 yr Author My Good Lady always threatens the little kids with "Khekula is Coming" if she wants to bring them inside in a hurry, come evening time, and it seems to work very well. So who is Khekula ? (Sorry, not sure of the spelling)

September 22, 200817 yr Quinkins - hide behind trees and steal children after dark. Scary stuff. Best to stay by the light of the fire. Thailand just has the most number of ghosts per capita of any country in the world.
