I believe, from a previous thread on the same subject, that there is a way for members to log on anonymously. Quite why anyone should wish to do that is beyond me but there you are different strokes for different folks.

I haven't read that thread but I have been invisible for a while, I started getting pms that for courtesy I would answer, but I really couldn't be arsed and then there was the abusive ones, well they were quite upsetting

So it was probably me Boater but there are often two and that's my other identity as well

Apparently spell the Galty Mountains as Galtee, someone who would appear to be a supporter of the UVF took rather exception to it, I would print the PM but it is so littered with foul language it would take an age to edit it.

I found it rather surprizing as you can spell it either way.

I have never jumped on anyone's misuse of spelling or grammar yet, as unfortunately I never had the schooling that most have been graced with, so I don't think I will start now.

I know the feeling... i am just down the road from Oxford in my youth.. shame on the UK education system....

I made personal decision the other day to revert to the spelling I learned at school.

It will be a long job getting the Zs out of surprise and authorise etc in the spell check but I'm going to do it. Z is a letter that only belongs in words like zebra. (And zero).

No, rather he should report the member for sending abusive PMs. Forward the PM along with the user name to a mod on duty. Abuse is against forum rules regardless if it is in the open forum or by PM.

I did, he got suspended pretty quick I must say and then zapped the next day.

Surprizingly, he apologized the next day and that user name got zapped as well.

Lack of punctuation is only annoying when it makes the meaning of the post unclear.

We all have our pet peeves, cuban. Mine is the misuse of the word barter when people mean bargain, the confusion between affect and effect and the use of the word irregardless.

However, I do try very hard not to get annoyed when others don't obey my wishes regarding these pet peeves

What really hurts me is replying to emails that contain either mis-used words or context errors, and needing to include the ofending phrase as a quote in my reply; then refraining from correcting the error. I understand the comment from CB elsewhere about family letters returned with corrections, but think that actually doing this is so rude it would...
