Featured Replies

I am looking for any information about obtaining an e commerce licence in Thailand. The business will be mainly online so I think it is needed but have no idea where to get one

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Do you for a fact of any E-commerce license available or needed in Thailand? That'd be a start.

According to my lawyer there is such a license. But have yet to see it. Never been asked to provide it by the government either.

You can register as an eCommerce business at the Department of Business Developement:

I'm not sure if there's any benefit; they give you a website seal and that's about it.

On request it was said that this license is only needed and given if the busienss is about producing and selling software. 'E-commerce' licence is very much the wrong term for it.

Also in the past it has been shown that similar registrations with government offices were used as easy starting point for official tea money collectors. Travel busiensses in Samui come to mind, where outrageous amounts were asked for. There was a post here on TV of it, maybe Search will help.
