The Vulcan Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Early days I know but my guess is Stoke - Watching their "backs to the wall" performance against Liverpool hardly inspires. I reckon they're a banker! West Brom - No particular reason, just gut instinct. History alone points to their demise! Bolton - It's due, that's all I can say. I was tempted with Newcastle but I suspect they'll survive - JUST!
Spit the Dog Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 From what I've seen, I would go for the 3 promoted teams WBA, Stoke and Hull to make a quick return. I am of course assuming that Newcastle sort their shit out and that Bolton will eventually sack Megson. If not then both of them may well be relegated.
lazeeboy Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 i would love to see spurs go down ,,but that wont happen ,stoke down for sure and the other 2 from hull, wba, wigan ,and rolton
ThaiPauly Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I do't think Hull will go down, I reckon they are the "Reading" of 2 seasons ago. I think its really between WBA, Bolton, Fulham for the last two spots, assuming Stoke are bankers to go down. Spurs will finish mid-table while Newcastle will be 16th-17th. IMHO
StevieH Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 bolton plus two from stoke, hull, newcastle, west ham and baggies. fulham will be fine.
bannork Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 It's taken the Tigers over 100 years to get to the top, and now they've got there they're not going down in a hurry!
Macclad Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I think Stoke and Bolton for sure, unless they sack Megson. I did think West Brom as well but they have had a couple of decent results. Probably between them,Newcastle,Fulham and Middlesbrough for the final relegation place.
keddy Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 bolton plus two from stoke, hull, newcastle, west ham and baggies. fulham will be fine. There is absolutely no chance West Ham United are going down unless McCabe and Sheffield United engineer a 20 point deduction from some other dodgy arbitration panel but there is every chance Totteringham will if they continue the way they have been playing. Also what makes you think Fulham will be safe; they hardly got a shot on target last Saturday and we didn't really have to get out of second gear to get the points.

Keddy, nevermind Stevieboy as he is a Pool fan. Wish we could poll this somehow. West Brom, Stoke and the big shocker, OldCastle.

Jockstar Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Wish we could poll this somehow. Why not make a Poll?
bkkjames Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Wish we could poll this somehow. Why not make a Poll? I would but have no idea how to make one and specifically with so many combinations is it manageable?
Jockstar Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Tell me what us what you want. Then we can take it from there.
Bonio Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I am not convinced Stoke are certs. No one has turned them over yet. Even Chelsea were not entirely comfortable in the 2nd half until they scored their second. As for Liverpool - they just played the wrong game. You are bound to have lots of possession when the opposition has the confidence to let you have all the ball you want and is content to defend. I don't think that makes Stoke relegation candidates. Their lack of attacking ambition in the last two games is not indicative of their overall approach. I think Everton/Villa/Middlesbro fans can vouch for that. Obviously all three promoted sides are the favourites to go down but the odds are that at least one out of those three will survive....probably at the expense of Bolton.
thaimiller Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 man utd, spurs, newcastle...... well stranger things have happened

tw25rw Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I'd settle for the table as it is now after 38 games.

Unlike those lilywhite mongs from up the road. I think Bolton (and not just cos I hate them after '03), Stoke because I just don't think they have the quality, and WBA - ditto Stoke. T*ttenham will stay up unfortunately, as will Newcastle because they have the players and will have new managers in place soon.

Would love to see the Sp*ds go, i'd be rejoicing for an eternity.. Newcastle have to be there or thereabouts as they simply don't seem to want to play for the Club, Bolton are due as others said, but i've still got a feeling, even though they've made good starts, teh 3 that come up will all go back down, unfortunately..
Jimjim Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I think West Ham are a quality side and well safe. Fulham will struggle again. Newcastle may hit their stride about 10 games from now. I think it'll be a fight between Bolton, Middlesborough, Fulham and the three promoted sides. 'Borough will probably be fine, though. I think it'll be WBA, Stoke, and Bolton in that order.

gennisis Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I'd settle for the table as it is now after 38 games. Hull....3rd !!! .....at this rate they will be in Europe next season, not the Championship..
lazeeboy Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 hull are doing really well ,but having a small sqaud ,injuries will play a part and they will end up mid table ,definatly not going down, there to many bad teams around this season..

Don't be so sure, there's just somethinbg about them that makes me think their unbelievable defending can only last for so long..Saying that, for winning 2 weeks on the spin in N London, i really hope they stay up..
