Can anyone recommend a hotel in Phnom Penh around $30-$40.

I know a really good one for about $25- a night, I am not sure of its name, I will go home tonight and look through some recipts and I will PM you the details tomorrow. Last time I was there it was slightly less than $25- and included a decent breakfast.

Accomodation in PP is very cheap, you can get into a guest-house as low as $3- a night and I have heard some decent comments at that price as well.

I've stayed at the Tai Seng a couple of times. 20 $ for a decent room and helpful hotel staff.

It's on Monivong Blvd and only 5 mins walk for the Thai Embassy.

really good hotel in good location on river near to foreign correspondents club (excellent food).

I paid extra - 67usd and got a 2 room mini apartment with balcony overlooking the river

Phnom Penh is chock full of accomodation in that range, some of which are amazingly good value. I'd advise you to have a surf through some of the Cambodia sites such as tales of asia

Without sounding faecetious maybe if you gave a little more to go on you might get more help eg location, guest friendly etc.

My personal fave is the Dara Reang Seay on 118th st.
