Hi I'm coming up from Koh Samui and would like to know of any place to stay in or very near the town of chiang saen , I know that theres the usual places like the Imperial but I,ve heard theres a farang guy who's just started a place up there, any help appreciated. :o

never stayed there, popped in to check it out though on a recent trip to Chiang Saen Lake (where his hotel is also) looks ok.. there are other places to stay around the lake also..

Thanks everyone for your help, been living in Samui the last 15 years but keen on moving up to Chiang Rai sooner or later, who knows maybe open a guest house of our own in Chiang saen where my wife comes from, any feed back on this idea ? :o

Chiang Rai is a great place to live. I've been in Chiang Saen about 5 years. There are quite a few guest houses around already.

Best way to find a good hotel anywhere in the world, check www tripadvisor dot com

Read what the guests say, then do a search on the hotel's name, get their website, then contact them directly.
