Mountain Treks In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Me, my dad and my little brother are planning to spend a few days in Chiang Mai and were hoping to go on one of the 2 or 3 day mountain treks.

Do we need:

Sleeping bags.

What's the sleeping like? Are mosquitos an issue?

Mosquito repellant

Mosquito Pills

Gaiters (for the leeches)

Waterproofs (how much rain is there

Thanks for any help you can give us.

Joe

As the nature in the mountains changes almost daily, I would suggest anything for your comfort is the best idea :o

DEET (100% for clothes and 20% for body)

Hiking shoes

(I use boots that provide good ankle support)

skip the pills (side effects can be horrendous)

most of the rest depends upon the trekking agency you use

(I also always carry electrolyte powder ... and stomach meds)

I am sure you can find good advice from Lonely Planet for trekking
