Bike Price Index Crash!

Sawadee ...

Ive got a new shiny bike. Its big, red and mean. yippee.

Unfortunately it seems my old bike ( a lovely Super 4 vtech turbo ) isnt worth much now. The rampant policing of motorbikes in CM city with fines for no plates has caused a glut of big bikes. Add the credit crunch, and a dicey high season, and i have a feeling that prices will only go one way.

When will this upholding the law madness end? :o

I wonder if i should keep my bike until the storm blows over. Start a stable of bikes, be the next 'tonys big bikes'.

only 30 or so bikes more to collect.

If you would like to buy my lovely shiny super dooper 4 (vtech turbo whatsit) or know more, please reply.

50,000. (bought for 78,000 one year ago). Runs like a dream (not the honda dream btw).

Big bike week approaches, dont look like a lemon on your wave scooter. Get a real bike. Chicks dig it. Your Gik will love you more.

photo shows Silver Super dooper 4 (turbo vtech gizmo) for sale. (has papers, but alas no plates)

(Chickens not included)

:D

ps: bike rally to Pai on 25th, to kick off the biking season. You too have the opportunity to be a hairy bad ass biker.

I remember " Bike week " last year. There were hundreds of HUGE bikes all parked at the Porn Ping Hotel. Very few of them had plates and the ones that did all had the same number !!

I am guessing that the BIBS ( boys in brown spandex ) are expecting a bumper week and already are putting down payments on new cars.

I wonder if the guys coming up here know that there is a welcoming committee ready to greet them when they enter city lines ?

Perhaps you don't read the Thai letters and towns whence these bikes have come. Yes a lot (read nearly all) have 222 or 999 numbers which are allocated by the orforiteez as they are so hard to get they seem to thinnk that a "suay" is well deserved.

Oh yeah...mine's 999 too and thanks to teh organigeezers at Northern Bike the BIB are usually super friendly that week too.

Doesn't seem like an Index Crash to me. 50% and more would sound more like a crash to me just the way stocks are crashing at the moment.

39,000 would be 50%. hmmm... quite possible. Have potential offers at 45,000. want 50. Will throw in the chickens.

stock market crash? what crash? tis just the other side of the crazy arse spike 1.5 years ago. Question is: is this the bottom, or just 50% of the move. Suspect the latter. Happy to be wrong. 1000% profits possible in last 1.5 years going short. Lucky for some.

Oops, i cant edit my 1st post...

I have the paperwork for the bike, all the way back to its import from Japan... but i need to go check with the Thai guys what it all says.

It is the VTEC version, ( a turbo thingy) i believe there are 3 models of super four (400) -

the older one with a curved tail

the middle one vtech ( this one)

and a faster 'R' or 'S?' version...

Will report back tomorrow with details, dates etc. cheers :o

It was bought 1 year ago from 'Red Road' opposite Airport Plaza. ( apparently reputable, but wtfdik)

VTEC (which stands for Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) is an electronic and mechanical system in some Honda engines that allows the engine to effectively have multiple camshafts. As the engine moves into different rpm ranges, the engine's computer can activate alternate lobes on the camshaft and change the cam's timing. In this way, the engine gets the best features of low-speed and high-speed camshafts in the same engine.

It sounds like you don't know what really fast is.

It goes quite fast, and when the vtec kicks in at a certain rev it makes it go really quite fast.

came into thailand 98 from japan

doing a google on chassis code: CB400LY, im guessing 93-94 vtec1

http://www.aphonda.co.th/superbike/webboar...;club=SUPERBIKE

รหัสรถ ใต้เบาะ "CB400LY" (ถ้าเป็น VTEC1 รหัสจะเป็น "CB400SFX" หรือ "CB400SFY")

- เรือนไมล์ จะเป็นแบบตัวปี 93-94

- just under 50,000 km

- has petrol gauge (some super4's dont)

- new tires, nice air cooling system...

vrooom vrooom
