Studying Mandarin In Doi Maesalong

I know this is not about teaching, but I also guess it's a good place to ask.

I know that some of the locals in the North go up to Doi Maesalong periodically to study Mandarin. I just wonder if anyone here knows about how "classes" are conducted and how casual the experience is.
