UDD Rallies at Rajamangala Stadium

BANGKOK -- The atmosphere at the Bangkok's Rajamangala National Stadium on Saturday is lively as many people across the country continually stream into the venue to join the pro govournment demonstration.

During the Truth Today mobile political talk show, UDD core members are taking turns making speaches in defense of the govournment while condemning the actions carried out by the anti govournment Peoples Alliance for Democracy ( PAD ). However, the main highlight of the show will be deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's phone call, which will be aired at the stadium at around 8.00 p.m.

Watching this on television now. Pretty big event. Its good to see the silent majority demonstrating that they don't support PAD's vision of the future. And before anyone mentions it, these people are not being paid. My gf from Khon Kaen has two relatives who have gone down for the day with their wives. The transport to and from is free but thats all. I think there are a lot of ordinary people who although not normally interested in politics are fed up with the PAD grabbing all the headlines and want to show their support for the govournment.

It will be interesting to hear what Thaksin has to say at 8.00 p.m. and whether there will be any attempt to block his live phone in. Certainly going to attract lots of listeners, not least of all , the judiciary , who are listening to make sure he makes no legal transgressions.
