Horror Movie

A horror filmmaker who recently started filming a movie on torture, decapitation and murder has been accused of turning his latest work into a gruesome real-life adaptation.

Canadian police believe Mark Twitchell had already written how Johnny Altinger would die in House of Cards, a movie he was filming in his derelict garage just days before Altinger disappeared on October 10.

Twitchell's film was about luring a man from an internet dating site to a garage, duct-taping him to a chair, hacking him to pieces and getting rid of the body.

Altinger disappeared after telling friends he was going to visit an "extraordinary" woman he met on an internet dating site.

Police believe the woman never existed and was Twitchell in disguise.

According to authorities, the married father-of-two was an obsessed fan of Dexter — a television show about a serial killer who works with police by day and kills by night.

Altinger's body still hasn't been found, although police said there was "enough evidence" to determine he was dead.

Twitchell has been arrested and charged with his murder.

A neighbour of Twitchell's said the windows in the garage used in his film had been covered with black plastic and boards.

"It is like a horror movie," Lynda Warren was quoted by the Edmonton Sun as saying.

"There was always sawing going on and we just thought they were building.

"And we don't know — maybe they were building."

Police said one week before Altinger disappeared, another man was lured to Twitchell's garage under similar pretences.

The man showed up at the garage expecting a date but was instead attacked by a man wearing a hockey mask, reminiscent of the 1980s slasher films Friday the 13th.

"The victim was able to break free and run into the lane while being chased by the male in the hockey mask," homicide detective Mark Anstey said.

Police believe the mask belongs to Twitchell and are urging the victim to come forward.

I always lived in hope after watching "Deep Throat" for something similar

I did a google search and came up with this wiki link for Dexter

I am surprised that it went to air. The episode notes are very disturbing.

But of course violence on TV, or making heros out of psychopathic criminals does not make for violence in society - after all, it's only entertainment.

Or have I missed something, somewhere?
