Can I Get Extension For My Non-ed Visa?

Featured Replies

Ive got non-ed visa issued at my country and it will expire at Jan 28,2009 . I only left one subject to finish my study and seems like my university can only provide documents for the students whom select at least four subjects each semester. The bad new is that the final exam is at March 2nd, What should i do,do i have to go back to my country before jan28? Is there any way to extent my visa in Thailand???

Thanks for ur help~~~~~~~~~~~

Your university will know best, so if they can't help you there is no way to get an extension besides a 7 day extension for 1,900 baht. I don't know your nationality, so it is difficult to advise. But you might do a border run and get a visa exempt entry for 30 days, if you do 2 of those you will be alright, or go to the Thai consulate in Laos and get a tourist visa.

On any kind of permission to stay you are allowed to study.

I suggest you make a trip to Vientiane Laos and get a tourist visa. That would give you 60 days plus you can extend it for 30 days at immigration. You can get a 1 or 2 entry visa that costs 1000 baht for each entry. If two entry you would make a border run after 90 days that would give you a total of almost 6 months.

Its no problem to go to school on a tourist visa.

Appreciate for ur guys help,im chinese, and i just want to ask can i do a boarder run and where to do it,im realli has no ideas abt that, thank u so much!!!!

As a Chinese national you can not get a visa exempt entry, only a Visa on Arrival at some border checkpoints. For a visa on arrival you have to pay and they are only valid for 15 days, better to try a tourist visa in Laos. These are 30 days for a Chinese national and you can extend them at immigration for another 30 days for 1,900 baht.

I want to know that can i do the boarder run at Pattaya travel agent???

Prrobably, if you tell them you are going for a Visa on Arrival, not a Visa exempt entry. But it might not be cost effective and better to go to Vientianne in Laos and get a tourist visa. Your Visa on arrival will only be good for 15 days, then you would have to do a new border run for a Visa on arrival. A tourist visa will get you to the end of your study.

VOA = 1,000 Baht and gives 15 days.

Tourist Visa = 1,000 Baht and gives 30 days.

As said earlier check with the Consulate before you travel.

Is your visa a multiple entry visa or are you on a one year extension.

If it's a multiple entry you have made border runs before.

If it is a multiple entry and it expires in January you can make one more border run on it just before it expires and get another 90 days.

Yes you can make a border run using a Pattaya border run company or travel agent if it is to get another 90 days on your existing visa.

Can you not just take some extra classes?
