Teach In Thailand

Featured Replies

I am looking into becoming a teacher in Thailand.. possibly an International teacher, so it may give me a better chance to travel around..

My question is:

I am currently in my home country USA for my 1 yr visa for Thailand. While i am here i would like to best prepare myself for a teaching position when i return.. I currently have a bachelors degree in buss, but nothing in the way of teaching.. My goal would be to start out teaching english, but then maybe move onto a comp teaching class..

What would you recommend in the way of certificates / degrees, etc... that i can obtain here, before my journey back to Thailand?

Thanks guys,

mike

If you want to teach at an international school, get a B.Ed. You might want to get an advanced degree, like an MBA or Masters in English.

You seem confident of obtaining a 1-year visa. My experience is that you'll need loads of cash in a bank account to obtain a 1-year Non-imm O or sponsorship from an employer or TEFL company to obtain a 1-year non-imm B.

or go to a consulate not EMBASSY and have your self a nice letter head for your 'business' which is looking at import/export business in Thailand. sign it send it with the other info required then normally bobs ya uncle, fanny's ya aunt imm 'b' in ya passport. done it in he UK 3 times no prob's.

the consulate just wants ya money as long as they have the paperwok they normally aint bothered.check the consular websites for info. have fun.

Looking at your sentence structure, grammar, abbreviations etc .... perhaps you should consider some classes in the English language first :o

Another positive and worthwhile contribution from jdinasia. Thanks.
