Airside Lounges For Non Business / First Class Ticket Holders

Featured Replies

As I'm spending more and more time in the airport, I was just wondering what the current situation is for the pay as you go lounges and what you actually get for your money.

I don't view Priority Pass as good value except when coming free with Amex Centurion but I'd be really interested in the lounges where you can drop in with any class of ticket and just pay a fee.

Anyone know the locations, fees and services of such lounges at Swampy ?

I use a free 'Priority Pass' (what a pretentious name, eh? :) ) which came with a card. I've actually collected three of the things: they seem to appear everywhere these days, the last with a quite 'ordinary' Standard Chartered Mastercard from KL.

I think the Priority Pass lounges are the only ones which will allow a cattle-class ticket holder in. I'm a professional stingy b@stard, who usually travels SLF so I find the card really useful. Once you've walked round and turned off all the blaring TVs their lounges are quite good.

But I wouldn't pay for it, either the card (how much is it?) or for the lounge entry. I think it's not worth it. Usually the equivalent of abour GBP 12 per person if I remember rightly. Too much for a cup of Nescafe and a few snacks.

My PP card allows up to three guests. On several occasions I've 'paid' for strangers who were at the desk, about to hand over cash. A nice surprise for them, which costs me nothing, and the lounge doesn't care since they get paid anyway. It's always satisfying to work this kind of system.

Easy to chack on the Priority pass website based in your country

It starts at 99$ a year and you pay 27$ every single visit and goes up to 399$ ayear with ten "free" passes to one of the lounges in agreement with them

But yu should be gareful when purchasing it and double check which airport you are most lokely to depart from as for some lounges you can spend a mximum of 2 hours prior to your departure or something like that

Please check again as it I am to laazy to open their site

Or you should coordinate your flight with Jingjok and take advantage of his card, that is if he is willing to be nice :) and he seems to be :D

Sorry about the mispelling but my computer seems to have a will on its own (and, of course I do not read again before sending the message)

Anyway do not listen to anyone telling you that it is easy to get to a business lounge through the backdoor, or any means they can imagine, as you would expose yourself to a hefty fine, but that was not even suggested in your post

You will never get much for your money.

If pay at the door lounges were any good fewer people would fly business class and the airlines don't want that happening.
