Went To Suwannabom Today (27 Nov)

Featured Replies

Was quite disturbed last night seeing on the news of families with little kids stuck at the airport - so mozied on down today to see if could offer anyone some free accomodation at home ( 2 bedrooms free ).

Good news - not a foreign sole in the departure or arrival area's anymore- all been put up in hotels at airport and in BKK.

Observations

- Pretty weak show of force - not alot of PAD there. I mean, if a govt was serious about cleaning them out, it would not be too hard. The road PAD block i went thru was "armed" with a few women with sticks

- Not a foreign Airplane in sight (well, not any significant brands i.e. QANTAS, BA, KLM, SQ, etc etc ). Almost all are either TG planes, or smaller one with logo's i am not familiar with. Obviously, they companies departed with their valuable assets.

If the police are looking for fire trucks to wet down protestors, look no further, the PAD has them :o

Good on you Skippy, very christian of you to make the effort. If I ever run into you at a piss up I'll buy you a beer.

Thanks kindly....

Even went over to the Novotel at the airport where i was tipped by the cops in the terminal that people are sleeping togehter in the ball room ( like the stadium during Katrina ).... once got to the hotel, was told they have been dispersed to hotel rooms all over the city.

was disappointed came back empty handed, should have thought of it earlier - guess its the thought that counts

...err Skippy,....you ain't got a fiver you could lend us..? :o

My wife and I had the same idea that is to take people in however we are in Chiang Mai. I saw on CNN quite a few people from the USA that were out of money as they were on their way home. If anyone knows of anyone in need please let us know we are happy to help also free!
