Any One Know About Kia Car In Rayong Or Pattaya/?

i'm interesting in a Kia car, for sale only in Chonburi dealership of Kia Motors. but i live near Sattahip, so service would be necessary to drive to chonburi area; just wondering if anyone knows if Kia cars are reliable, when buying them new. looking a Kia Carens, around 1 million baht new.

and is there another small size SUV like the kia Carens that i should consider in the same price range? is the honda CRV worth the extra money?

looking for reliability and reliable honest service place. thank you.

No, KIA is Korean. Yontrakit (Chonbury and Bangkok) do the import and service.

Had a Kia Carnival. I kept it 3 month, and was lucky to resale it....after having experienced big troubles with it

Stay away from Kia. Put the extra money, and treat yourself with a CRV

Honda is better, but you'll pay the triple amount of money to buy one. Is it worth? I guess not. A used Kia Sportage, you'll pay aprox for 200'k. Even you repair for let's say another 50'k during the next 2 year, it is much a better deal than a (in my opinion boring) Honda. Remember: Honda Part's aren't cheap.

Kia transmssions are only good 100K and need to be rebuilt/replaced, that's just the start of it. You may not plan to keep it that long but anyone buying a secondhand one would want to allow for a lot of expensive repairs, therefore much lower resale value.

Buy a new one, keep it a short time, and you'll loose a big money because of the low resale value

Keep it long, and expect to spend a lot after 100,000 Km

Buy a second hand, you will get it cheap, and you'll become real friend with the repair shop. They will see you often, and will even be able to schedule your next "unexpected" visits...

in defence of Kia, my experience with a used Sportage was noteworthy

i bought it from a second hand car dealer in BKK for 305k

i had it serviced and a bit of maintainance (brake pads etc) at the excellent (and cheap) Kontrakit in Chonburi

i had it nine months, had no problems and sold it for 295k

it was a great little car, my wife still speaks of it with much affection

she insists i post a picture of it, her first car......

I had several used KIA's. So when u buy them "used" you expecting another 20 or 30'k extra for all the small things to repair. So what? In my opinion it's still not worth to buy a Honda for a couple 100'000 Baht more.

KIA CARENS is a CRDI TURBO COMMONRAIL Diesel, No you will not find anything that is a Turbo Diesel, unless you go for a truck based BIGGER... 2009 TR Adventure cost about 900k for the 5 speed Base model to 1.1million for the Auto.... or the 2009 Isuzu MU-7 5 speed 960k, or 500k more for the Auto Base model to 1.26 million for this price your in the CRV, Fortuna price range

As for another small SUV...... yes and a lot cheaper Suzuki APV PETROL

New Turbo diesel Kia Sorento being launched in January. Completely new blueprint aimed at road handling and less of an off road emphasis. Press from UK very good.

"They can also pick between two- or four-wheel drive. A smaller 2.0-litre version of the 2.2-litre diesel engine will be introduced to the range later. Kia expects the vast majority of customers will prefer the diesels so for now the 2.2-litre diesel is undoubtedly the unit to pick.

It might be smaller in displacement than the outgoing 2.5-litre but it packs a meatier punch, better fuel economy (43.5mpg combined compared to 35.8mpg) and boasts better emissions (carbon dioxide fi gures are down from 209 to 171g/km).

This engine is a gem that serves up plenty of grunt and never feels breathless on steep winding roads. Kia has also managed to shave an impressive 2.2 seconds off its 0 to 60mph time, now 9.4 seconds along with a 118mph top speed.

The only area where the petrol engine overtakes the diesel is with its smooth operation. You barely hear it running and the power comes steadily and evenly.

It does, however, run out of steam quicker than the diesel, drinks more (33.2mpg) and emits more CO2 (203g/km) while also being slower (0 to 60mph in 10.5 seconds).

On the road the new Sorento feels sure-footed, sits tight in the bends and the steering has better weight and feel than before. The drive isn’t as sporty as that of a BMW X5 or Audi Q7 but compared to its direct rivals the Sorento is a joy to drive.

Value has always been the Sorento’s trump card and the new model is no different. Pricing has not been confirmed for the UK yet but it is likely to be in line with the current range, which retails from £20,675."
