If you have an "O" marriage visa for Thailand, the Thai government doesn't require that you have a return ticket to enter Thailand. But, and it's a big , the airline staffer at the check-in counter may not be aware of this and demand you show proof of an outward flight. It's best to check with the airline several days in advance to be sure there won't be a problem. Call the airline and speak with a customer service rep. If the rep is aware you don't need a visa, he'll tell you to have the check-in clerk call him if you have a problem. You can also ask him to send you an email confirming no need for a visa or to place a note in your reservation in the airline's booking system.
In the past, it also worked to have bought the cheapest onward flight to Singapore or another destination, but I don't know if that will, uh, fly with check-in clerks these days.
