Employment In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi all,

If you care to share, just wondering what those of you do who work in Chiang Mai but do not teach English. Thanks.

Me, I do not teach English but work pretty hard at what I do.

I trade currencies for the last few years. Before that I did software consulting. Lots of opportunities for online work.

What the heck with buzzer. he says he works hard. Who gives a flying cr@p?

I have a handful of online projects which create a bit of residual income.

The fact that you both 'Jack' and 'shit' (hopefully not at the same time) may be of  interest to some but neither could be considerd to be gainful employment, surely?  :D

If you get paid (pension) it is gainful employment. :D

thanks for the replies. so it looks like online work, pension and teaching english are the options. anyone working for an embassy or foreign company in or around chiang mai - are there options here? or is that bangkok? thanks.

You could also start your own business, which in a Chiang Mai context would be either a bar, a restaurant, or a used bookshop.
