Visa on arrival

Featured Replies

Dear friends,

According to website www.thaivisa.com I (citizen of Czech Republic) could receive so-called visa on arrival on checkpoints you mentioned. Some travel resources in our country informed me that this type of visa can be obtained only on airports but thaivisa.com also annouce that I can get it also on checkpoint Sadoa. Is this really meant that this is possible get this type of visa on border-point Buhit Kayu Hitam(Changloon)/Sadao when I arrive by bus along the south-east expressway from Kuala Lumpur? Please also let me know if I arrive by plane to Bangkok airport Don Muang whether I can buy visa on arrival in EUR or USD currency or whether I must change some Thai Bahts in advance(Is the any moneychanger before I enter passport control at immigration police counter?)

Thanks for your help

Ivo

Welcome to Thailand Expat Forum, Manicek.

Yes, you can enter Thailand via Sadao and get a visa on arrival there

If you enter via Bangkok Airport, you could change money at the transit hall before entering immigration. You must pay visa on arrival fee in THB.

I'm a Polish citizen and I'd like to know if it's possible to obtain a visa on arrival on Mae Sai Immigration Checkpoint, Chiengrai.

As I know it's possible to cross the border and leave passport photo copy in officers booth without any additional documents. They allow you to visit Myanmar only in controlled 100 km area.

So, what happens if I across the border on the day when my tourist visa expires and come back the next day ?

Will I recive 2 weeks visa on arrival then ?

If not, on which point can I obtain a visa except airports?

greetz

You are right, there are more entry points, but only the ones I mentioned are Visa On Arrival points for issuing the 15 days visa.

You better choose Thai-Malaysian border (Sadao) for Visa on Arrival. Myanmar border can be a bit tricky to enter without have a visa beforehand.

why oh why don't you apply for a visa in Poland ? It will enable a greater period of stay  and it'll be much  easier     for you
