newname
I'll be needing some epoxy resin. And vaccuum bagging supplies. peel ply, core material, sticky tape, carbon tape, that sort of thing. Most important is hexcel core or nida-core. 25 mil. I bet you're thinking that this is really the best time to start a new business and that patts is really the best in the world, and that "where can I find....." post are a real energetic boost to the normal talk about the bars. So lots of people will answer, right? I am hoping that I even get an answer. Maybe a moderator will give me a break. Someone know someone in the business who has heard the technical terms? Has anyone driven by a place that looked like a fiberglass shop? Anyone? Off topic is ok too.
Kerryd
So lets see if I have this right. You want to start a business in Pattaya, that requires specialized materials, and you never checked first to see if those items were even available in the area ? newname
I did a 2 minute research for your new business. This may be of interest to you. If you had made it three minutes you would see that the web site is in thai, except for a link "contact" which goes to .........well.......where the heck does it go? NanLaew
^ geewizz newname... you are soliciting for help in locating rather esoteric materials in Thailand on a Thai forum and you are helpfully referred to a Thai langauge website???!!! <deleted>??? Who would have guessed, eh? Since you appear to need very, very basic assistance here, PM me with your business idea, model or plan and I will take it from there and get back to you when it's up and running. PS. Wanna buy a 'fiberglass shop'?

newname
If you really want to have a lot of fun and make tons of money............... get into a growth business early in the boom. I don't know about the other four people you mentioned or what their plan is. And I bet you have no clue about what is booming right now. So you may not know whats SUP ? Google that. Watch a couple U toobs. The OP in the link mentioned above said.......... Does anybody know a supplier of epoxy resin in the Surin-Birriram-Roiet area. I am using a lot of the stuff on building boats and am tired of driving to Pattaya every time. So it is here in patts. I'm new. If you're not new maybe you would consider being helpful instead of jealous
foxxx
"And I bet you have no clue about what is booming right now." i love it how people assume they are smarter and in the know more than everyone else they don't know. there's a fireglass supply retailer on sukumvit, about 100m before the pattaya thai lights heading south. newname
Thank YOu FOX ! But you didn't know about SUP, right? It is free to try out. And Patklong..................I don't allow workers to hurt themselves. You are right, though, in any country there are workers who would work without safety gear. That is where the bag comes in. It all happens inside the bag. No fumes because I swithched to epoxy. It does not harden by giving off fumes. The only "chemical" that works for cleaning tools and whatnot is ......... vinegar. If that is going to endanger the environment, we better get the word to the fish and chips shops. I have a competitor who is already up and running with SUP. So I best get to work. So I best get to work. err yes I did actually. nothing new champ. sup has been around since the 60s' but started to become popular again around 2000 - the boom was 9 years ago, but that doesn't mean there's not room for competition. and about the'bag' you still net to wet it up first if your vacuum bagging, if you use vacuum infusion there's no wet up, but either way you still need to create the resin mixture first. also, cutting of the fibres is where air extraction is useful, inhaling or having fibres floating around ain't good. newname
Hey Phatman..............thanks for the bump. And if you have read this far, good for you. And, YOU could be important. If you like Pattaya, and what is not to like, you will want to see this venture do well. As an equipment builder it is vital that I also start a local sports club. Sports is good for the economy. When I advertise, I am also advertising Pattaya. Ever see the television episodes of Magnum PI ? Started every show with the canoe. And Hawaii 5-0 was before your time. Started every show with the canoe. And it advertised Honolulu as a tourist destination. You wouldn't know, but Honolulu at the time had a reputation as a place with bars and sex. Add CANOE and everyone got rich. The times ahead may be tough, not just on Pattaya. The worse things get, the more important it is to do destination advertising. The canoe can do more for less tax money. And I like to do some canoe races. It would happen on the water side of all those beach chairs. Sort of a reason for people to rent a chair. Maybe the beach chair rental people would want to see the canoe venture take flight. For the first advertising..................I like the way a photo would look if taken from the bay in front of those new condo buildings in Naklua. A pic of the canoe paddled by a team of bar girls, with the condos in the backround. Is there any place to keep the canoe in that area?
