I wonder which of the 19 recognised dialects of Isan this dictionary (or is it actually a lexicon?) uses? Loei Isan, Udon Isan, Surin Isan and Ubon Isan, for example, are all very different.

Interesting website. Are you able to locate books published in America that are translated into Thai? Also (somewhat off topic) do you know where one can purchase DVDs and/or CDs of movies in Thai with English subtitles, or in English with Thai subtitles?

most of the movies i've seen are dubbed from chinese to thai, or english to thai (due to lowliteracy levels maybe?? );

the karoake dvds come with thai and transliteration sometimes

check dcothai they have tons of dvds cds etc.

try universities that have s.eastasian students, maybe they can help you

there's an other site of thai school students and they have their own bookstore with english/thai stuff:

http://www.thaistudents.com/

have fun
