Check out 100 Degrees East Dive Team in Bang Rakh

They depart an hour later then others at around 9.00 hrs and hence they arrive at most of the places in Marine Park when the crowds have leaft from other Samui boats. The staff is great and they can arrange a special deal for you.

Hi Folks,

Can anybody recommend where I could hire a speed boat to go snorkelling to the Marine Park for for 6 to 8 people.

Thank you

Speedboats are OK for short journeys when the sea is flat calm. They tend to be very noisy and there is not much room. Plus each engine uses 1 litre a minute, I know as I had to fill mine up every day, and most have 2 if not 3 so tend to be expensive as well. :o

If you would rather take a Chinese sailing junk with lots of room sunbathe and to relax and enjoy lunch PM me and I'll put you in touch. :D

I think that it depends on the speedboat. The statement regarding 1 liter a minute might apply for very old noisy, smelly 2 stroke engines. A modern quality speedboat with 2 X 200 6 cylinder 4stroke engines will use less than half the amount quoted, (around 50 Liters for both engines per hour at 25knots). AND it will get you to where you want to go in a third of the time. Lots of room, shower and toilet in most good quality speedboats. If you think that a speedboat is what you want it will pay to shop around, you will however, get what you pay for. :D
