If dad didn't drive, and if I had money, I could have walked there from home, Sharon Hill, as only 2.25 kms away. After working, about year or 2 later, and still in school, use to walk to the White Castle on weekends, which was maybe 2-300 meters from that restaurant. Actually the same distance, if not further, as use to stop at friends house, a bit out of the way, as a normal weekend routine, if we weren't working. That paper route, and linen service guy used to pay good money, and $25 +/- was big money to a 13/14 yr old. Especially since their sliders were < $0.15 back then.
