soundman Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 LOCAL POLITICIAN‘S SON-IN-LAW ARRESTED BY UNDERCOVER CHONBURI POLICE Undercover Chonburi police arrested the son-in-law of a prominent local politician, who is a large-scale drug dealer, on 18 February, 2009 at Soi Pornprapanimitr, Pattaya. The police team, somewhat wantonly, in firing at the suspect‘s truck, accidentally shot three innocent bystanders in the process. At 9.30 am, on 18 February, Pol.Lt. Jirasak Ap-phang, Banglamung Police Investigator, was notified that a relatively heavy shooting incident had occurred in front of a flat in TP. Mansion, Soi Pornprapanimitr 10. Pol.Lt. Jirasak reported the shooting to his superior, Pol.Col. Somneuk Janket, Banglamung Police Superintendent, who dispatched a team to the scene to investigate. Arriving at Soi Pornprapanimitr, the Banglamung police team found numerous bloodstains on the road and 11 cartridge cases, which they kept as evidence. The 3 victims of the shooting [1 man and 2 women] had apparently been taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital before the Banglamung police arrived. The wounded victims were Mrs. Aroonrat Trakulsri [35] and Miss Methawee Krasorbthong [34] and Mr. Prasart Trakulsri [35] from Nongprue, a food seller, who had two bullet wounds to his left leg. The injuries to the other two were not disclosed at the time. All three are in intensive care awaiting operations at the time of reporting. Questioning Mr. Jakarin Poldongnok [40] a motorbike taxi driver who had witnessed the incident, Banglamung police learnt that two pickup trucks, a black Toyota Vigo and a bronze Isuzu, both containing (it transpired later) a team of undercover, plain-clothed police from Chonburi, arrived simultaneously at the spot and immediately hid to try and catch a drug dealer, who they had presumably set up a rendezvous with. Suddenly, a bronze-gold Mitsubishi Titon appeared on the scene, containing only the driver. At this point, the Chonburi team police attempted to block the suspect's truck, using both pickups, but the suspect rammed the one in front. Meanwhile, four police officers leapt from the other police pickup, which had driven round to the back of the suspect's vehicle, and began blasting at least 10 bullets into the truck's wheels and body. Their aim, however, was not sufficiently precise and three innocent bystanders were accidentally shot. At this point, the suspect made a getaway, despite the damage to his vehicle, and the police gave chase. After a brief pursuit, the police team managed to arrest the man in front of the Banglamung Ice factory. His name, it transpired, is Mr. A-pai Dornhee [33] or Ek, from Naklua. His truck had sustained 6 bullet holes around the body and wheels. Police searched the truck and found 4 bags of Yah Ice and 200 Yah Bah tablets, which were spread out on the road. Police arrested the man and took him to the Banglamung police station. Reporters said, during the time they were taking photos and video, Mrs. Pe Nong-Yai, the suspect's wife, arrived at the scene in a white Chevrolet. She is a daughter of a well-known local politician. She got out of the car and angrily pushed away the reporter, who had approached her, causing his camera to fall to the ground and become damaged." Why are you taking photos?" she demanded from the reporters. Banglamung police later took her away from the scene and it is not reported what happened to her.

If you look at the photo above, the one with the accident damage around the back drivers side wheel, you will notice five or six bullet holes around the still inflated tyre.

SM...with all due respect mate, dont think they are bullet holes, too evenly spaced, looks like the mounting holes for a wheel arch flare or body kit..

Chang_paarp Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Keystone Kops at their best. Glad I was not in the area.
Briggsy Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The cops will breathe a sigh of relief as the 2 innocent bystanders who are shown here have dark skin. This, under Thai culture, subsection on informal payments to negligent police shooting, will dramatically reduce the informal compensation due to a small amount.
neverdie Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Ahhh so many critics....so many keyboard legends
bkkjames Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Ahhh so many critics....so many keyboard legends I thought for a minute you were gonna predict it was a suicide and then start a new topic to explain how intelligent you are.
BigSnake Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Not a problem BIG DADDY put up the CASH and all will be forgiven and Forgot. Trust me that is the way things work in the Land of Smiles. Just check the Headlines very few rich kids see any real Jail time.
meteorainc Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 i wonder why they went after the local politicians son, the local politicians probably didn't pay the police enough protection money. The thai police needs to go back to school and learn to fire their weapons properly! The six holes around the wheel well are not bullet holes as what was previous said by soundman! They are holes for mounting the wheel arc body piece, it probalby fell of during the crash.
