Road Rage (Foreigner Style)
@fredwiggy I posted a summary typical of someone who suffers from NPD. You seem to tick many of the boxes. if you choose to not see that... I have proved my point and don't feel the need to carry on doing so. Take care of yourself. -

Bt 800,000?
Good to know, so I understand statements can be a day or three beforehand for those doing so along with the letter whereas the bank book must be updated on immigration day with a small transaction on the day. Until last year I have always done everything on day with KBank in the same building but that will now change. -

Middle East Four journalists among 15 dead in Israeli strike on hospital
I never said you celebrated this incident. I suggest you go back and read precisely what I did say, pay particular attention to the punctuation and the question mark. -

Which bank do you use?
What exactly is supposed to be “dodgy” about my retirement visa? I had 800k in my account and provided the agency with all the required documents. I already had a bank account at Kasikorn Bank that had been opened 12 years earlier. Despite this, the agency insisted that I should open a new account at Bangkok Bank, which they offered to arrange for me. I didn’t see anything suspicious in that at the time. Now let’s suppose that some bank employees violated internal procedures when opening this new account (the account I neither wanted nor needed in the first place). How does it make sense that I am being held responsible for the bank’s own mistakes? -

Which bank do you use?
I was refused an app yesterday by Krungsri Bank, even though I've used them for the past 25 years. I was told because I'm now 80 yo I'm to old to have an app on my phone. I have 4 different Thai bank accounts so I'll wait to see what happens before I take any action. What really concerns me how will it affect my retirement visa using an agent with no Bangkok Bank app -

Politics Philippine Police Chief Dismissed After 3 Months in Role
Photo courtesy of Bloomberg In a swift and surprising move, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has dismissed police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre, less than three months after his appointment. This decision was communicated through a letter from Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, dated 25th August, which became public knowledge on Tuesday. The letter from Bersamin instructs Gen. Torre to oversee the seamless turnover of all his responsibilities. However, the presidential office has not disclosed the specifics behind Torre's removal, leaving many to speculate on the reasons. Gen. Torre's tenure as police chief was marked by high-profile activities, including the notable arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte in March. This arrest followed the International Criminal Court's request for Duterte's apprehension, a move that was historic and controversial, given Duterte’s contentious term and his staunch stance against the ICC. Torre's leadership in this operation elevated his profile, showcasing his commitment to international legal standards. Nevertheless, his dismissal raises questions about the current administration's internal dynamics and decision-making processes. This development is particularly notable given President Marcos Jr.'s focus on maintaining stability and projecting a sense of continuity and control. The sudden removal of a top law enforcement official might hint at deeper organisational challenges or disagreements within the administration. While the reasons remain undisclosed, local analysts suggest that internal politics, strategic disagreements, or external pressures could be factors. The absence of a clear explanation has sparked discussions in political and public spheres, heightening intrigue surrounding the motivations of the presidential office. With Gen. Torre’s dismissal, the Marcos administration faces the task of appointing a successor capable of navigating the complex landscape of Philippine law enforcement. The new appointee will need to reinforce public trust and effectively manage ongoing challenges, such as crime control and human rights issues. Moreover, the situation highlights the broader implications for President Marcos Jr.'s government, as it underscores the importance of strong, consistent leadership in maintaining credibility at both national and international levels. Public discourse is already abuzz, with citizens and pundits eagerly awaiting an official explanation or further developments. Until then, this incident adds a layer of uncertainty to the current political climate. In the coming days, all eyes will be on Malacañang Palace for an announcement of a new police chief and possible insights into any shifts within the administration. The strategic direction taken by President Marcos Jr. in addressing this will likely have lasting impacts on public perception and international relations. As the dust settles, one thing remains certain: the Philippines' political landscape continues to evolve, offering both challenges and opportunities for those steering the nation's future.
