Budget Golf

Featured Replies

any recommendations for the best value for money golf round in the Kingdom....?

You might try the 9 hole course in Loei, at the Thai Army Base 17 kilometers out of town towards Laos.

Weekday green fee - 150 baht

Caddy fee - 180 baht

Golf cart - 500 baht

Tip - I just rounded it off at an even 1,000 baht for the day.

Loei is a really challenging golf course even though it is only a 9 holer. Situated at the base of a mountain range you will find yourself with many less that level lies, lots of carry across water to smallish greens that are generally fast and quite sloped.

If you don't count the balls you lose in the water or jungle, it is good value for money.

Well.......you asked!

yes Loei is a very challenging course and very good value , i walk round there 3 times a week so i pay 500baht all in , that includes tip . its one of the few courses that they don't expect a minimum 200baht tip .

There are a lot of deals out there right now, mostly depending on your location.

Sports Days are always a bargain, but they get crowded.

Tues-Wed Lam Lukka Country Club is only 700 baht for the green fee. All the other usual fees apply as well of course. On Mondays for only 300 baht more, you can almost get the place to yourself.

Weekdays at Green Valley - Bang Na it is 1,000 baht until 9:00 am and I do believe it is the same deal at The Royal Lakrabang but you should call to confirm it.

I am sure there are also plenty of other deals all over the place.

Again, it really depends on your location.

Soi224

About 15-20 kilometres outside Khon Kaen a 1 year old 18 hole course called Dancoon , very good layout and very good facilities , mondays and tuesdays are sports days , green fee 250 , caddy 160 , carts are 500 but its a flat course so easy to walk , the rest of the week green fee is 500 and weekends are 800 .
