Best Way To Get From Pattaya To Krabi

Featured Replies

Thinking of getting out of Pattaya for Songkran, what is the best way of getting from Pattaya to Krabi.

I guess driving is the cheapest but a devellish long drive.

As far as I know there are planes from U-tapao to Phuket, but how to get from Phuket to Krabi.

Possible the best would be to fly from Swampy to Krabi? Who flies and whats the cost?

I know I could ask a travel agent but they always have their own agenda....

Not the cheapest......but both Thai Air and Air Asia fly the route several times a day from about 2000 to 3000 baht O/W.

Book now as everyone and their mother will be going home for the holiday.

Thai Air

Air Asia

We booked flights to Krabi last month for this November. We used their 'Free Seats' Promotion.. We got 2 seats return for 1,012 baht... Yes... 1,012 baht! Seats were free, Tax was 400 baht each, and 50 baht Luggage fee per person/way.

Note that these 'Promotions' last for 7 days, however seats are usually fully booked within 1-2 days.

Although it will be no good for you for this Songkran, You should consider signing up to Airasia so that you receive their promotion emails. They're giving away free seats about 2-3 times a year. Maybe it would be good for you for next time you're looking to 'get away'.

We've got 3 holidays coming up thanks to Air Asia! Krabi, Singapore and Hong Kong...

Krabi 506 baht/person, Singapore & HK about 2,000 baht a person...

Good deal!

With Airasia for Songkran, You're looking at about 4,000 return.. per person..

Ouch.

There are overnite second and first class sleeping car trains from Bangkok to Surat Thani, then 6 hr bus to Phuket.

Also from Bangkok to Trang by train which is closer to Krabi .

You can buy tickets at Pattaya train station and get schedual

anyone have any fresh ideas?

also does anyone know how much by bus/minivan from hua hin to phuket

Hold on. Best look at a map first. Samui is way out of the way. Phuket is not close either. Fastest option is swampy to Krabi via AA or whatever other cheapie airline flies there. I've done it a few times and it's not too bad. The airport is quite a ways out of town, but not that bad.

The other option would be bus to BKK then bus to Krabi. Songkran for most of Thailand ended this past weekend, so travel shouldn't be too bad. Rail is OK, but very slow. And you'd have to take a mini van from Surat over...which for me was almost a full day due to all the stops.

What about heading to Chantaburi or just south of Rayong?

For cooler weather, how about up in the mountains towards Khorat? Lots of resorts up there. And it's only 3 hour drive or so.
