Cham Ni, What To Do?

My wife comes from Cham Ni, and we are building a house there. Is there anything to do besides getting drunk with my father in-law and watching the grass grow?

Hi eraymos

Good luck, you will need it.

I have no idea where in Isaan you live but would like to add that it can take a long time to gather a circle of GOOD friend in a new area.

Things do not usually just 'drop on your lap' you have to organise your own life/hobbies a bit.

Sure it helps if there are a few interesting places not too far away but it is only YOU who can make yourself happy here.

You have found a very good source of information in this forum and I wish you happyness

If you are going to build a house, i would say you need to be there all the time while they are building the house. To make sure they do what you want, check the materails used and up to specifacation. I wish i was here all the time when building my house but had to go back to uk, a big regret.

As Dave the Dude this forum is a good place for information, wish i had found it when i first moved here.

Have been living in Norway, but I`m from the U.S. Have learned quick that building problems are common for us farrang. You and Dave are right, this forum is a good place for information. ChamNi is 20-25km outside of NangRong, Buriram

There's plenty of farang around the area. Go to Nang Rong from Chamni. Go straight over the traffic lights in Nang Rong. About 30 m past Bangkok Bank, on your left, you'll find a restaurant run by an English guy called Kevin. Go in and he'll help you. Most farang locals pop in there at some time. I live 25k west of Nang Rong off of route 24.
