Me is nice foreigner and fully in touch with himself, spiritual and fun loving mind.

Young in hearth and mind.

Not taken as I feel I am no body's property.

Totally independent and a free mind.

Let us hug some trees together.

:o

I am a 23 year old australian female,i've lived in Bangkok for 2months now and am yet to find where youngish normal men hang out after work for drinks etc

please someone give me some insight to this seemingly non existent world!

OK I have read the wonderfully helpful replies, so I will try to be a little more helpful. Why not try the bars where the younger English teachers hang out? many of the other replies I think are quite genuine in a way because most ex pat males in Bangkok in my experience are older enough to be your father, me being one of them.

I suggest the Witches Tavern on Sukhumvit Soi 55, Thonglor, not to long by the sky train from the center. There seem to be quite a few younger people in there on Wednesday nights and the bonus is that the drinks are free for the fairer sex.

Good Luck,

Cheers, Rick

Thanks for the laugh Bangkokrick, what part of the 'Normal' did you miss? Why on earth would a young lady want to hang out with some of Bangkoks lowest form.....teachers that couldnt cut a teaching job in the west :o

Patinbkk,

I would take the aussie girl anyday over most of the other options, at least shes probably going to be down to earth & not out to extract all ones cash.

Having said that, the girl is simply looking to make friends with some other expats, crikey, whats wrong with you people.

I think you missed the point.....my comment was made in jest asmost guys on this website that have a Thai lady quote one of the 3 points I made and I find it hilarious.....why are they trying to justify there girlfriends....

Sorry Pat, I worded my response poorly, the last paragraph wasnt actually directed at you. I did actually have a laugh at what you were saying. cheers.

Nice to see that some things are predictable and that the usual members come out with the usual unhelpful comments for western women.

hmmm, referring to me? hope not cause I recommended Rachada and Khao San road. :o

Try RCA. Try hip dance clubs. You'll find tons of white men on Soi Cowboy, but probably a bit old on average for you.

After carefully considering every response and referencing peer reviewed texts regarding this matter I think we can all agree the only possible solution is for her to return to Australia.

I think her biggest problem will be having a laugh as you lot seem to be unable to be lighthearted

BTW

We are not slagging off a non thai lady we are having a bit of fun, which seems to get lost here

Well I disagree for starters, and so there is your "We can all agree" theory blown out of the water.

I have a PhD in Farang females living in Thailand and have written a dissertation on the matter. Your opinion simply falls into the statistically insignificant margin of error. I should have put an asterisk near all*

* a small percentage of Thaivisa members may disagree but given their lack of scholarly credentials or Thai fever bias the use of the word all is allowed.

Miss Moneypenny..

Maybe have a look at some of these sites

http://www.bangkoknetworking.com/

http://www.austchamthailand.com/atcc/asp/e...p;SponsorID=735

http://members.bccthai.com/BCCT/asp/eventlist.asp

http://www.mobyelite.com/moby/asp/gpages.a...GPagesGroupID=6

The events that they are listing are, once you get past the plethora of Finance guys wanting to sell you a mortgage or invite you to a money making seminar that will "change your life forever"!!, a great place to meet people.I am certain you will find "youngish normal men" there... plus a few old ones!

Bangkok is a great city for "Networking" parties, and the current economic climate is only making them stronger as everyone is looking for a new place to meet potential clients. But if nothing else, and more importantly in your case, they are a great place to grab a few drinks and meet new people.

See you there!

American Chamber of Commerce has open social networking and young professionals meetings

http://www.amchamthailand.com

Then there's my 23 year old son. Who after a number of long trips to visit is moving here to work for a year or so. Arrives tonight as a matter of fact. And he's a nice normal young man who enjoys doing things with people from all over and in fact likes going out with his expat friends. He'll probably slap me across the head but PM if you contact info.
