Well it kind of works, but the only air it blows is hot air and driving home today was like sitting in a greenhouse.

I know little to nothing about cars but I am guessing that it may be a filter problem? If so is this easy to fix myself and what would I need to do?

I drive a Vios BTW.

It sounds a little more serious than just a filter, it could be 1 of 3 things I can see.

1. Simple fuse or relay fault which is stopping the clutch on the compressor from engaging.

2. Lack of gas in the system, due to leak or hole (this will also stop the clutch engaging).

3. Compressor fault.
