This has been in pipeline for about a year already and no move as yet and that web site offers nothing new on timing that I see.

This has been talked about before and the last news was the move would be made this month.

Text from website follows.

This is to inform that due to limited area for sevice and parking which is insufficient to serve increasing visitors, Office of Bangkok Immigration Division will be moved to the more convenient place. The new office will be located at Government Center (Building B ) , Cheangwattana Road (near Consular Department). The exact date of removal will be officially announced as soon as possible.

Any more developments on this? And will it be convenient to get to the new location using public transport?

Thanks

I put a placemark on the ThaiVisa map of immigration offices in the place that I believe to be the new location of the Bangkok Metropolitan immigration office:

When that satellite photo was taken the place was still a construction site. There is Lak Si Railway station about 2 km from the office.

Did you just use the word "convenient" in relationship to the Dept. of Immigration? There must be some mistake. :o

Not very convenient for public transport. More parking but worse traffic :)

I pass the new Immigration building almost every day, and it doesn't look like it'll be ready for at least another month. I'm sure you;ll all be pleased to know that the traffic is pretty horrendous. A new flyover bridge right outside immigration has not helped in the least.

Where exactly on Chaeng Watthana? I'm not familiar with the government buildings there.

But the old place was just crowded and the a/c was way under capacity. Parking was next door at the post office.

I thought they just remodeled the old place and installed new a/c units and file cabinets.
