Featured Replies

THe red sticker on my Vigo has just expired (car is a little over one year old now) this is not the first class insurance one but some sort of Thai Tax registration sticker...how and where do i renew this...my wife has up and left me and i have no idea how to renew this sticker and how much it is ging to cost> i called the dealer i bought the car from they said they would get me a new one for 7000b? Ive been told by others its only 1500b max for this sticker??? Any help much appreciated

The first thing you will need is the CTPL insurance – which coincidentally Thai Visa Insurance can supply :o

You will then go to your local Transport office with the CTPL insurance, your vehicle registration book and the fee for the tax – this can be found in the back of the registration book.

Hi :o

Yeah, before you can pay the tax you need the insurance. If the truck is still in finance, you'll need first-class-insurance too.

Then the tax itself is paid at the Department of Land Transport, i believe any of the branches will do to pay the tax. The amount depends on what type of truck - a two-door will be around 1,500 Baht, a four-door about 7,000-ish Baht.

Best regards....
