Sending Money To Australia

Featured Replies

I need to send some money to one of my family in Australia (about £500). It's not urgent so I really want to find the cheapest way to do this. I could do this by interbank transfer from one of my accounts outside Thailand. However there are significant charges involved in doing it this way.

Are there any cunning methods of sending money overseas from Thailand that anyone is aware of?

There's always a cost unless you post in an envelope(not recommended of course)If there's no hurry how about internet banking? you may have to set up the account your sending to though. The easiest and also qiuck is via western union but that will cost.

Hello, I use the Western Union to send small amounts like that. They will give you a control number to give to the reciever, and it will cost about 10% of a bank transfer. I have used them more than 50 times with no problems, and you can send the control number in an email, or on the phone because there are many Western Union shops in Thailand and all over the world. They have a good web site that will give any one a location of the closest shops.

Cheers
