Desperately Looking For Fashion Advice

I would describe my taste as: simple, subtle, classic with a funny little detail. As I call it " quiet clothes". No office clothes though. But like the brand Philippa K.

No prints, lace, bonbon-knots, roundings everywhere. Asian fashion is just not for me.

Today I went to Emporium, even though I saw brands I know, I'd say the selected clothes are Asian style.

I have been in BKK for 2 weeks, went to several markets and malls (MBK, Platinum, Siam Discovery...etc)

no clothes for me :o And I only brought 3 shirts with me! Hahaha... the last 2 months I have been washing clothes every 2 days.

My last option is ...going to the tailor. But then I need to bring examples (photos) with me, which I don;t have.

So...if you know where I can find my "quiet" clothes, please let me know.

are you looking for men's clothes or women's ?

Didn't you bring any of these quiet clothes with you ? show them to a tailor, they'll do them as quite as you want.

Is a pair of Khaki pants and white t-shirt too loud for you ?

Got to be womens clothes I think?

Here is your answer:

My wife, an English fashion Junkie, has after four years in BKK, gone a bit tropo.

It was the only way to get threads on her.

Or flying to HK every "fashion season" what ever that is.

(Jolly expensive is what that is)

Seriously, womans clothes here are not easy especialy if you are not a child size.

Some nice clothes for sale in the Siam Paragon department store. Sure they've got trendy stuff but some classic looks too. And while I am not child size, I have no problems finding clothes to fit my size. :o

Of course, these clothes cost more, but I've found the cheap clothes are just that, cheap, and rarely last long.

try zara. pretty low key.

i have a friend who designs and sells womens clothes as well, lower key, but generally very clean and current. her market is professional thais who want something different, so sizes are limited. she does casual stuff too.

It is not a matter of size, I just haven't had a -wow- effect. So I keep on buying underwear instead to comfort myself... :D

Went to Zara, Siam Paragon, hi brands, mid & low brands. Maybe it is just me, maybe I missing the shopping flow... :o

I'l try Zen this week. And buy some magazines for examples.

To T.S.: Your friend has a shop?

Its true, you must be in the "shopping zone" to find the right clothes :o

How many times have I gone shopping and bought nothing because I wasn't in the right frame of mind? Of course, the main problem with being "in the zone" when shopping for clothes is you end up buying everything instead of buying nothing! :D

Hmm... thats a tough one..,.., think positive thoughts, have an idea of what you want to buy, don't have a big meal beforehand or all you will feel is full and fat and eat some dark chocolate first. That always makes me feel much better.

Sort of the zen meditation of shopping for clothes. :o

Yeah, chocolate gives you the same high as being in love. But a lot easier to get.

My sister is a natural shopper, she can shop anytime. I miss her as my shopping coach. I'll focus on silver bracelets instead or shoes...I gave up on clothes.
