Any Type 102 Milliwatt Test Numbers?

In Bangkok preferably.

:o

I tired clicking on it to no avail.

Is there an answer, thought, or anything at all in that response?

Not sure they have it here, at least not open to the public. Probably password protected.

Why do you need it? I thought they used it to determine line attenuation to see if your line supports ISDN, or to be able to tune the ISDN modem for your phone line.

Most telco's wanting to test for ADSL will just activate the dslam at the telco and then use a dedicated tester giving attenuation both up and down as well as SNR margins at a certain speed, or simply the fastest speed sustainable on that line. Even some ADSL modems give you max attainable speed in their status screen.

For those having no clue what this is about (most I will guess :o ) the 102 Milli watt test number, when dialed will send you back a tone of 1004 Hz at 0dBm.

As you know at what power level the tone is transmitted, then you can deduce the loss (or attenuation) between you and the telco exchange.

The 102 milliwatt comes from the 102 number you had to dial to get the Milli watt test! A type 100 test initiates for example a quit termination! Those numbers were used on Bell System exchanges...

Thanks Monty. Want to tune the RX gain on an FXS interface.

I'll try asking a phone tech when I see one.

Want to tune the RX gain on an FXS interface.

Could you not just transfer the power and bypass the warp drive coupling...
