Eye Surgery For A Child

Featured Replies

"Me" my neighbor is 2 1/2 years old. His father was killed by the tsunami and now his family is living in the temporary housing "Baan Moo" on the hill.

We took "Me" into the local doctor and the prognosis is not very good. She gave him a 40/60 chance.

He was born with serious glaucoma and now its infected since the tsunami. We got some meds to help the infection but I've offered to take him to see the best eye specialist in Bangkok. Can any one recommend the best hospital?

The doctor of-course gave me a long list last night. But does any one have a personal experience?

thanks

I am not sure about eyes specifically, but we had a huge medical problem with a child. The only hospital that could deal with her was Bangkok Childrens Hospital, who were fantastic......,,I would start there....avoid the ordinary Private Sector at all costs!! There is a specialist Eye Hospital in Asoke

I don't know about Eyes specifically either, but I have taken my son to Bumrungrad several times, and my husband also! They have always been excellent, really good with kids - only place I have ever found that treats them like humans as opposed to animals.

Expensive but worth it in my opinion.
