I am 50yrs. ,my profession is aircraft manitenance . (USA) Planning to move to Thailand in May of this year. Will probably have to teach English until an opportunity comes up in my field. What is the best option for me, as  the type of visa needed? Can I qualify for Non-O visa? Thank You. Lericf

You are 50 years and qualify fro NON-O for retirement in Thailand. Ask your local Thai consulate for a Non-Immigrant "O" visa with 1 or 2 or maybe multiple entries.

You can NOT work with this O-visa, but it will give you some time to find a job and a school/company who can assist you to get a NON-B and a work permit.
